What Is POF Shrink Film?

Chlorine-free, food-safe, thinner gauge with higher performance. 5-layer polyolefin technology surpasses PVC's environmental and mechanical limits.

POF (Polyolefin) shrink film is a packaging material that conforms to product shape under heat. Unlike its PVC alternative it carries no chlorine, is approved for food contact, and offers higher optical clarity. The 5-layer co-extruded POF film we manufacture assigns each layer a distinct function, delivering the mechanical performance and visual quality buyers expect from a premium polyolefin product.

Three perforation profiles in one product family. Hot-perforated (heated-needle): the workhorse, with even micro-vents that bleed air during shrink and prevent trapped bubbles. Wound flat as a single layer; the machine's plow folds the film around the product and forms a lap seal underneath. Required format for lap-seal packaging machines. Production Infrastructure

MGS runs a 5-layer co-extrusion line at our Balıkesir Organized Industrial Zone facility, on a 24/7 continuous production cycle. The single accountable production address for the domestic Turkish polyolefin market, with operational target capacity scaling to 40 tons per day.

Facility infrastructure was designed for scale-up from day one. International polyolefin specialists run the production line; Balıkesir holds end-to-end responsibility for both manufacturing and distribution.

MGS works closely with our partner Maripak, Turkey's leading shrink-packaging machine manufacturer, to test and tune film performance on real shrink-packaging machinery. The two companies stay distinct: MGS makes the film, Maripak makes the machines. The collaboration means MGS films deliver consistent performance across machine types, from L-sealer to continuous-cut to lap-seal, regardless of the brand on the floor.
